The Best 2019 Black Friday Deals

Black Friday is arguably the most crucial time of year for retailers. In 2015, monthly spending grew faster in November than December for the first time, and this trend has continued in the years since, according to figures from the BBC.

Since its introduction to the UK market back in 2010 (yes, it’s been just 9 years), Black Friday and its little sister Cyber Monday has taken the retail sector by storm, with many stores now offering deals earlier and earlier, even beginning in October. Many of the best electronics deals can now be snapped up at the beginning of November.

In 2019, British shoppers are planning to spend more than £7 billion on Black Friday deals, according to data from Finder. This works out at £220 per shopper – a significant drop from last years average of £304 each. However, while average spend may have decreased, participation is growing, with almost twice as many people planning to take advantage of this year’s sales.

Tips for Black Friday Shopping

  • Sign up for email newsletters from brands to make sure you don’t miss out on their best deals.
  • Download retailers’ apps to make sure you don’t miss a bargain whilst out and about.
  • Set up accounts for your favourite retailers ahead of time and make sure you’re logged in on your preferred device. This could save valuable minutes of filling out your details on the day.
  • Beware of the impulse buy – remember, if you don’t need it, it’s not a bargain.
